How e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition was BLOCKED by the Parliament of Canada.

This email stream (click link) shows the sequence of emails, beginning on February 01 and ending on March 10, 2017, that resulted in the Parliament of Canada BLOCKING e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition. It speaks both to the good intentions of some Members of the Parliament of Canada and to the extreme difficulty experienced when asking the Parliament of Canada to ADDRESS the TRUTH of Indigenous Sovereignty and to answer the question ‘Do you recognize and uphold Indigenous Sovereignty?’ The final screenshot, at the bottom of this page,  shows the ridiculous current status of e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition, on the Parliament of Canada Web site. Petition e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition is now trapped within the old paradigm it was attempting to transform.

THE 8 EXCUSES MADE BY THE PARLIAMENT OF CANADA TO FACILITATE THE BLOCKING of e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition

In total 8 different excuses were made for blocking e-906 Indigenous Sovereignty Petition. They range from the absurd to the obstructionist to the purely fantastical.

EXCUSE #1) “I received the email however am unable to access the site [Parliament of Canada Web site] from a parliamentary computer.” – March 01, 2017.

EXCUSE #2) “Rachel cannot use her email to activate a link” – March 06, 2017.

EXCUSE #3) “Normally an MP is either a Sponsor or a Supporter but not both” – March 06, 2017.

EXCUSE #4) “Unfortunately, we cannot substitute a supporter with another on any petition.” – March 06, 2017.

EXCUSE #5) “The design of our system does not allow us to add information about potential supporters.” – March 07, 2017.

EXCUSE #6) “Adding an additional supporter to an e-petition manually on our end cannot be done for security reasons.” – March 08, 2017.

EXCUSE #7) “the thirty-third Report on the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs (the report that established guidelines for e-petitions) does not give us the authority to make these manual changes” – March 08, 2017.

EXCUSE #8) “Not only can we not add supporters because the system is not designed to permit us, but also because we lack the authority from the instructions that were given to us by Parliament.” – March 08, 2017.
