THE SETTLERS – THE COLONIZATION OF TURTLE ISLAND

Canada is one of the most diverse Nations on the planet. People have moved here from over 200 countries around the World. This has created a multicultural society, united through diversity and tolerant to a level which is celebrated around the World. However, this ongoing mass colonization is something that has been encouraged by Canada with little or no consultation and agreement with Indigenous Peoples. The impact of this is that Indigenous Sovereign Peoples have been left feeling powerless to control the movement of people into their traditional territories. As welcoming and open hearted as Indigenous Peoples are, a much greater respect for their Sovereign right to decide how immigration works is urgently needed.
